In 2023 we sent donations to Good News Family Care in Buxton, Rotherham Cancer Care and Rotherham Hospice. Latterly we have been collecting for Mercy Ships and in 2024 we are currently collecting for Maher in India.
Please contact Rev Suzanne Nockels about the above on Tel: 0114 232570 or email suzannenockels@gmail.com
Those charities supported include:
DISASTERS EMERGENCY COMMITTEE - Ukraine appeal
The church has been horrified by the scenes coming from Ukraine and felt compelled to act. We organised a collection of goods to send out to the Ukraine with Members and friends holding a prayer vigil in the Memorial garden to those touched by conflict.
We also held voluntary collections towards the Disasters Emergency Committee Ukraine appeal and one member hosted a Ukrainian Mother and two children

Good News Home, Buxton
Good News Family Care (Homes) Ltd. is a Christian based registered charity that seeks to model a sense of family and belonging in a secure and accepting environment. Our vision is to make a positive impact in the community - the influence of each transformed life affecting the whole.
Our primary aim is to offer support for mothers and their children affected by domestic violence, homelessness and drug and alcohol abuse. We achieve this through supportive residential accommodation and our Work Based Skilled Farm projects available to the wider community on a rural farm.

Below is the message from Sister Lucy in 2022
Dear friends,
Let us begin with giving thanks to the Divine energy for all the blessings we have received and experienced all through the year and are happy we are all safe and healthy.
For the past two years bringing the entire Maher family together was an impossible dream. This year thanks to the implementation of the COVID vaccine, we could bring the Pune centers together at Vatsalyadham .
On the 24th of December we had the sharing of meals and sweets together with all the pavement dwellers, followed by distribution of food grain kits to over 200 families.
Our women and staff prepared dinner for over 1300 people where in the pavement dwellers and sugar cane cutters came together to share a meal at the Vadu center.
The children put up a beautiful program for the people together with bringing baby Jesus to the crib.
Soon after dinner and sharing of food grain kits the crowd left. Thereafter we had the Christmas mass which was followed by a simple Christmas party.
On Christmas Day we had a lot of programs performed by the children. Every child, staff, women and men received a gift and each gift had their names written. Packing gifts for over 2000 people was a huge task. All in all we had a wonderful time and a lot of fun. I must say that we missed all our foreign and Indian volunteers, especially Bernie Hill from the UK. Every year she would be with us much before Christmas and helping in everything.
Dear Friends and well wishers, all this would not have been possible without your generosity and the loving service of our committed staff. I thank each and every one of you. May the Divine energy be with us through the coming years. Best wishes to you all for a Very Happy and prosperous New Year.
With love, gratitude and blessings,
Sr. Lucy

Samaritans Purse Shoe Box Appeal
A charity we have supported with help from RASCALS for a number of years now.
The story of the Good Samaritan (Luke 10:30-37) gives a clear picture of God’s desire for us to help those in desperate need wherever we find them. After describing how the Samaritan rescued a hurting man whom others had passed by, Jesus told His hearers, “Go and do likewise.” For over 40 years, Samaritan’s Purse has done our utmost to follow Christ’s command by going to the aid of the world’s poor, sick, and suffering.
