Sunday worship – 2 April 2017

Led by Rev. Suzanne Nockels

Reading:  John 11:17-44

Jesus arrived too late having waited with his disciples and was chastised by Mary and Martha for not being there for his friends as Lazarus died. If only…..  faith and waiting is hard.

Smells linger and bring back memories form the past and we read of the practical Martha concerned by the expected smell of Lazarus if the tomb is opened. When he emerges he needs help  unbind his bindings.

Lazarus may live but his place is taken by Jesus, who the Pharisees determine has to die.

Take a whiff of what God does for us and it will help with all the other smells.
