Leader: Our Minister Suzanne Nockels
We started by “Looking through the keyhole” at photographs of 4 rooms – who lives in a house like this?? Living rooms – where we spend a lot of our time – but our hearts are our true living room – they are our inner being, love, pride, jealousy, and everyday living all controlled by feelings in our hearts. Do you search your heart? would you recognize it if described by someone else??
Deut.6 v 4-9 tells Israel and us, to “Love the Lord with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength” there was a purpose why they have been wandering for so long – they needed to search their hearts. and
Luke 4 1-13 Jesus went into the desert for 40 days, was tempted by the devil and he said “man shall not live by bread alone” and v8 “Worship the Lord your God and Him only”
Our heart is our motivation it is how we act and respond to things.
Psalm 86 v11 asks God to “Teach me your way ….. give me an undivided heart”
Psalm 51 v 10 “Create in me a pure heart and renew a steadfast spirit within me”
At some time in our lives we are all in a wilderness – maybe feeling alone, grieving, lonely, having worries. This is a testing time for us – do not run away from it – it is our opportunity to search our hearts – God is there for us – invite him into your heart.
Man cannot live by bread alone – we all need bread but this is not our only need – we need to sustain ourselves body and spirit.
Look carefully what is in your heart – spend some time in the wilderness and refresh body and mind – don’t have emotional heart trouble.
